The shockwave that rippled through the Washington Capitals’ fan base Friday morning had little effect on the players who skated at their Arlington practice facility, hours before their Game 2 matchup against the New York Islanders. Goaltender Braden Holtby had felt sick even before Wednesday’s opener, “under the weather” as several called it, so his absence and the team’s corresponding recall of Hershey starter Philipp Grubauer came as no surprise.
