Caps Insider: Capitals tempted fate against New Jersey, but still ‘won a big game’

The Washington Capitals had already snatched a 3-2 overtime victory over the New Jersey Devils that Coach Barry Trotz felt they had no business winning, and now the out-of-town scoreboard at Verizon Center glowed with more gifts from across the continent. The Boston Bruins fell in overtime. So did the Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders, all in regulation.
